La Ceiba Gráfica is a graphic arts center with art residencies, arte education and facilities with graphic arts production for artists.
Our goal is to help individual and social growth through the arts, either as a creator, a spectator or a promoter.
Our house is the Orduña’s ex hacienda, a building with regional historic importance as an agro-industrial production center. It is located at La Orduña, Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico.
Goal:
- Encourage art creation and production and herald its existence. Safeguard a growing art collection as a historical estate.
- Support training and education in graphic arts and their cousin crafts
- Contribute in helping society gain access to artistic creation, regardless of the individual’s social condition.
Grounds:
La Ceiba Gráfica was funded in 2005 through the Artistas Veracruzanos Bajo La Ceiba civil association. The aim has been to fill a vacuum in the State of Veracruz where the state’s university art students as well as independent artists lack the means to develop and pursue graphic art disciplines. Likewise, our social cause gives growth opportunities to the general public who wishes to develop their artistic potential.
Philosophy:
We encourage the individual to establish a sensible and creative relationship with his/her surroundings in a respectful fashion towards nature. We aim to develop a self sustained model where art and ecology meet, work and education blend.
Long term goals
- To consolidate initiatives and turn them into stable programs that can outlive administrations and government tides. We don’t want to be a weak bid that disappears in time’s waves.
- To establish links with other cultural projects.
